She wrote her recent book, Longing to Know, during her years at Covenant Seminary, St Louis, MO, where she taught and wrote until 2004. Longing to Know reflects its St. Louis roots in its "driving" analogy of her auto mechanic in Kirkwood, Covenant Seminary, the Missouri countryside, the 1904 World’s Fair, and Cardinals baseball.

Esther Meek speaks to groups of people from teens to golden agers, from coffee houses to classrooms and churches. She cultivates opportunities to present her proposals concerning how we know what we know to skill groups as varied as scientists and artists, educators and athletes, counselors and business persons, pastors and parents. She loves "Starbucking," one-on-one conversations over coffee with students and other people with questions and stories.

Born in Philadelphia, she now lives in the Pittsburgh area.
